I am responsible for worldwide tank container logistics at the Leschaco Group and thus for the global deployment of our own tank container fleet. Like many of my colleagues, I spent several years working for Leschaco in Asia - specifically in Japan.

EPCA Annual Meeting: The European top meeting of the petrochemical industry

https://epca.eu/events/56th-annual-meeting “From resilience to transformation”: This was the guiding principle of the 56th EPCA Annual Conference held in Berlin at the beginning of October. Four colleagues from Leschaco were also on site and personally gained an overview of the current challenges.

The petrochemical industry is under pressure

The conclusion of our team’s on-site visit to the trade show: The industry is under pressure to quickly implement necessary changes toward sustainable transformation in light of high energy prices and societal expectations. However, the petrochemical industry is taking up this challenge to move toward more circular economy and decarbonization. In view of these goals, it is showing itself to be more open and innovative than ever before.

At the EPCA Annual Meeting, the near-zero emissions supply chain was widely discussed; Sigmar Gabriel, former German Foreign Minister, spoke about the challenges of the global energy crisis on Net Zero. Other current topics such as sustainable route planning and modern management culture in the company were also on the agenda.

Our colleagues still used the meeting for intensive discussions with attending customers and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their time and valuable input.
The EPCA Annual Meeting is Europe’s largest event for the petrochemical business community. The global EPCA network includes around 550 companies from 48 nations. Here, trends, initiatives and solutions are analyzed to drive the industry forward and keep it fit for the future.
